About The Universal Psychology Practice
The Universal Psychology Practice was founded in 2024 by Dr. Meggan King, Chartered Clinical Psychologist. Over the past decade Dr. Meggan King (she/her/hers) has worked in the HSE, NHS Scotland and in the private sector with people across all seasons of life. Meggan’s work has included best-practice assessments and interventions. She has facilitated a variety of 1:1 and group therapies in person and virtually. Meggan has also provided consultation and training to health and social care professionals on best practice assessment and intervention. Meggan draws on multiple therapeutic modalities in an integrative way so to best meet your needs. Some of the therapy models used include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness.
Dr. Meggan King graduated from Dublin City University (DCU) with a First Class B.Sc. Honours degree in Psychology in 2014. She completed the M.Sc. in Applied Psychology for Children, Young People and Families at The University of Edinburgh in 2016. She also holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Trinity College Dublin (TCD), graduating in 2020. Dr. Meggan King is chartered with The Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), No. M14179C.
