Approach
Dr. Meggan King aims to ensure that all services provided are in line with best-practice professional and ethical guidelines. Meggan takes a person-centered approach to both therapy and assessment. At the practice, you will be treated as a collaborator throughout the process.
A neuro-diversity affirmative lens is used for all aspects of services provided. This means that the practice aims to demonstrate understanding and respect for the differences of people who have different neurotypes, for example, people who are autistic, ADHD/ADD, DCD or dyslexic. The practice views all people, including the neurodivergent community, as equal, valid and differences are celebrated not pathologised.
The practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming as it recognises and respects that sexual and gender identities are not choices and are not to be pathologised or changed.
The practice also works within a trauma-informed framework ensuring that the environment and process feels safe for you, that the clinicians you meet feel trustworthy, that you are given choice, that you are treated as a collaborator and that you feel empowered throughout your assessment/therapy.
